TOPIC: Dutch evangelization DVD for Children “Good News”
Suppose you want to explain the Gospel in a clear and understandable way to Children. The DVD “Good News” is a good medium for this. While looking at the DVD you get an overview of the Bible from the Creation to the Resurrection of Jesus by means of 40 illustrations. Various persons explain the pictures in an easy and accessible way. You are also told how to live in a way pleasing to God.
Within Gospel Recordings Netherlands (GRN), whose aim it is to distribute the Gospel by means of audio in 6000 languages, the ‘Good News’ Script has been used for a longer time already. It has even been translated in about 1200 languages and its purpose is to make people known with the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Sometimes local Music is added to the spoken messages that go with the illustrations, which have been produced in the form of a nice looking booklet. On the website of GRN all of these recordings are available in mp3-format, ready to download, but they can also be ordered on CD.
GRN has now produced “Good News” in Dutch on DVD in a form that can be understood by Children. The DVD, which can be used individually or by groups, can be paused at any moment to continue at a later time.
The length of the DVD is about 26 minutes and it can be used for Children between 6 and 12 years of age.
The DVD will be available from January 16th 2012 at Gospel Recordings Netherlands, Ecovata and the Christian Bookshops for the price of € 4,00, postage excl.
Christian organizations have launched a new website for migrants
The Christian organizations Trans World Radio, ‘St. Gave’, ‘ Evangelie & Moslims’ and Gospel Recordings Netherlands have started with a new ministry amongst migrants and refugees in Holland. A website with ten languages and phone numbers offers the possibility to listen to the Gospel for the least accessible group of people in Holland.
On this site www.mijntaal.net are radio programmes in Turkish, Moroccan, Tarifit, Dutch, English, Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Romanian, Kurdish Sorani and Somali. Trans World Radio has made the majority of the programmes abroad, but the site also contains programmes from Gospel Recordings Netherlands and other Christian organizations. For Dutch the program ‘Through the Bible’ is on the website.
Representative Joël van Vugt: `With this website migrants and refugees have the possibility in Holland to listen to the Gospel in their own mother tongue. I think this is a unique opportunity for them as up to this time there were few materials available in some of the languages mentioned. This is good news for ‘ St. Gave’ and ‘ Evangelie & Muslims’ as well. Several years they have been reaching out to the migrants and refugees. Now this website provides them with a new tool to bring them into contact with the Gospel. These organizations also play an important role in the follow up of the listeners’.
Next to the website there are also Phone numbers available. These numbers offer the opportunity to listen to short Gospel messages. ‘In this way we hope to reach out to the people who dare not sit behind a computer and visit the website. Especially in Asylum Centres this is often the case’.
For the promotion of the website there are business cards available. Van Vugt: ‘it would be great if people, but also Churches were willing to give these to their neighbour from abroad. This is actually the only way to reach out to these people. Many migrants and refugees speak little Dutch. This makes it difficult for them to hear about the Gospel. Hopefully this website can make a difference’.
